So, welcome to “Ten minutes with… OSF“, the latest in our series of interviews with founders, leaders and personalities across web3. OSF is a co-founder of REKT Brands, the parent company of REKT guys and REKT Drinks.
Hi OSF, how’s your week been?
Frantic.
How would you describe what you do to my grandma?
Gambling, drawing, flogging sparkling water.
What habits help you get through a typical day?
Boxing, 100 burpees, getting out of bed no later than 7am, hanging out with my daughter, brushing my teeth, going for a walk.
What’s the smartest thing anybody has ever said to you? (Or a mantra that you often return to?)
If you have conviction, make sure you have maximum risk-on. (From my old boss when I was a trader).
What was your biggest knockback?
In 2019 when I was working on Wall Street I had my first and only down year, lost about $1m. Was a tough time psychologically because it wasn’t just one big loss, was a combination of lots of things. I learnt a lot from it.

Whose advice do you usually take – and why?
Mando – I know he has my back.
Who in web3/crypto do you think people should really be paying more attention to?
Chimpers – they are doing some really cool stuff and it’s impressive what they’ve built.
What do you want people to think about you, when you look back at this period of your life in 5+ years time?
Someone who gave a lot back to community and built something cool.
Long term, how do you see the relationship between projects and holders evolving? What do you see as the mid-term and ultimately the final form of that dynamic?
Things need to adapt so that holders are not just consumers. I think projects need to have ambitions to expand their horizons outside of our bubble and empower holders to become turbo-charger marketers who have an economic stake in success.
At Rekt we gifted our NFT holders equity in the company and it would be cool to see that adapt in future, kinda like crowdfunding.
Do you think short term speculators and flippers are a permanent feature of web3, or will they fade away as the space develops? How do you see the economics of this playing out?
There will always be myopic opportunists; just something we have to factor into our decision-making and expectations. You can’t fight it.
Chains are currently proliferating – how do you see user behaviour regarding multi-chain adoption? Do you think we’re going to see a consolidation? What’s the mid-phase and end game look like – are we going to see ever more or, eventually, fewer?
Realistically I think the future is omni-chain across a handful of winners.
And finally, what’s your guilty pleasure?
Emily in Paris, Bridgerton.
Love it. Thanks so much for taking the time OSF, i appreciate you.
