Welcome to “Ten minutes with… Ammar (Zaeem)“, the latest in our series of interviews with founders, leaders and personalities across web3.
Ammar is a co-founder and co-CEO of Revolving Games, which is creating a decentralized gaming ecosystem that’s owned and powered by its community.
Hi Ammar, how’s your week been?
Its been very focused on our long term vision, with the market being rough it gives us time to build bigger and better...
How would you describe what you do to my grandma?
This for a second felt like a between two ferns type of question haha!
I build video games, don’t you see every kid playing those games all the time? Good business grandma, business good!

What habits help you get through a typical day?
Depending on where I am, but most often its a long walk early morning with steam/sauna with a cold shower or plunge (if available) and then a double espresso with sparkling water (yes, I’ve been able to do this at least 200 days a year).
What’s the smartest thing anybody has ever said to you? (Or a mantra that you often return to?)
“If you are scared of losing you can never win” – Imran Khan.
What was your biggest knockback?
I think building in public has knock-backs everyday, I have luckily found ways to block out the negative energy.
Whose advice do you usually take – and why?
It’s different people depending on what I need advice for life, work, family.

Who in web3/crypto do you think people should really be paying more attention to?
Web3 will take time to fully develop, and embracing these qualities will help bring greater balance to people’s lives as they navigate its growth.
What do you want people to think about you, when you look back at this period of your life in 5+ years time?
My goal is to make a meaningful, positive impact on people’s lives and be remembered as someone who took on the challenge of bringing greater credibility to Web3. While I’ve faced setbacks and made many mistakes, and life hasn’t always been fair, I want to be respected for my persistence, dedication, and hard work.
Long term, how do you see the relationship between projects and holders evolving? What do you see as the mid-term and ultimately the final form of that dynamic?
Its something we are working on. However, holders will play an active role in shaping project decisions through decentralized voting, fostering a sense of shared ownership and involvement. They engage deeply with the community, contributing to development and strategy, whilst building trust. This trust, in turn, enhances the project’s overall reputation and credibility.
Do you think short term speculators and flippers are a permanent feature of web3, or will they fade away as the space develops? How do you see the economics of this playing out?
I think they will remain forever, we just have to see past them.
Chains are currently proliferating – how do you see user behaviour regarding multi-chain adoption? Do you think we’re going to see a consolidation? What’s the mid-phase and end game look like – are we going to see ever more or, eventually, fewer?
In the short term, users will engage with multiple chains using improved cross-chain tools. Although I think over time, consolidation is likely, with a few dominant chains emerging due to their scalability and user experience. Niche chains may persist but won’t compete at the scale of the leading platforms.
And finally, what’s your guilty pleasure?
