Delighted to confirm that I’ve joined the Rug Radio Creator programme.
Consequently I’ve been fortunate enough to be involved in the beta testing programme for Myriad, a new platform designed to incentivise and reward individuals for content consumption, created by Rug Radio and Decrypt’s parent company, Dastan.
With the news just breaking and embargo lifted, I thought I’d share my first views with a quick walkthrough of what to expect…
So, this is Myriad.

I’ve only had hands on for a few days but first impressions are great. Let’s start at the top – once you’re in, this is what you’re looking at.

The site’s tagline is: “Break the news. Stake the news. Make the news.”
Simply put, Myriad is a means of rewarding individuals for interacting with content, whether watching video, joining Spaces, reading articles or interacting with X, from a host of prominent platforms and creators. Secondly the site offers a means of spending those rewards via a fun, degen-oriented Predictions market.
With the social-fi farming meta reaching saturation and the growth in interest in Predictions, this strikes me as a logical next step – and one which dovetails very nicely with existing user behaviours.
The service is still in closed Beta – although public beta and then general availability are both apparently imminent.
Once you’re able, sign up first via the site (to be announced), whether with email or your preferred wallet. The magic of account abstraction means that email sign up is quick and painless for non crypto natives.
You then have the option to also install a browser extension, which helps to monitor and thereby reward your activity, without having to continually refer back to the site itself.

First up, i’d suggest either hitting the News or Quest sections. News will feature links to a variety or article and video content. Quests will do the same, but with additional options for X. You’ll note also there’s a daily points claim on the right, which incentivises returning regularly, through escalating daily rewards.

Here’s the thing: in a space where everyone wants an edge, many people will immediately ask themselves whether it’s possible to game this system. Sure you can scroll through with a quick skim – but a hefty points bonus is given for correctly answering three questions to a quick multiple choice quiz afterwards.

This is what you see when looking at a Twitter Quest, which offers the option to engage as much or as little as you’re comfortable with, to take the 20 points on offer.

Once you have some points – up to a maximum per day (currently set at 500) – you can then hop over to the Predictions tab and use those points to test your insights against live market sentiment on a host of subjects. Here for example, you choose whether you think that Ethereum will hit an all time high in 2024, amongst other options.

And once you’ve made your choice (I chose ‘Yes’ here, hopium being what it is), you then confirm how many of your points to commit – the odds of which and resulting potential returns being determined by the market at that point, given number of votes and proportion of votes for Yes/No respectively.

So that’s Myriad, in a nutshell.
I’m told there are plenty more features to come – but it’s effectively a means of getting rewarded for reading, listening to and engaging with the content that many of us already consume – with a fun, painless degen that has potential upside.
Of course, we don’t yet know what else these points might mean, but i reckon we could probably hazard a guess that it’ll ladder up something else over time.
I’ll keep playing for now and will share more thoughts here and on Twitter as the site evolves.
Thanks for reading. Hope over to Rug Radio or Decrypt for more info. Or follow Myriad on twitter. Register here for the closed beta.
